Public report on Marine Renewable Energies released in April 2013


This study carried out by a delegation from the Ministry of Ecology, Sustainable Development and Energy provides an insightfull perspective on the French ecosystem.


The report highlights the French potential in terms of Renewable Marine Energies and more specifically in terms of Tidal Energy.

In that respect, several key recommendations are given in order to efficiently support the development of the tidal energy sector:
  • Detailed schedule for development of tidal pilot then commercial parks until 2020;
  • Description of various public schemes and calls;
  • Specific observations regarding floating tidal technologies and their advantages.
